Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
The Tots' Clubhouse Nursery School CSR Policy
Policy Statement
We generate additional social value throughout everything that we do - from investing in staff, prioritising staff children, generating sponsorship and creating valuable experiences.
Our People
We employ local people of all ages, which has a significant impact in the local community. We offer volunteer placements and apprenticeships to 16-19 year olds at local schools and colleges. We also offer a range of apprenticeships for over 19s.
We have an extensive sustainable learning philosophy with continuous professional development for all staff, which is offered throughout the year. We implement an Ethical Recruitment Charter that specifies the annual investment in all staff to access professional development training - skills, knowledge and certification.
We prioritise staff in our admissions policy to ensure that they have a childcare place when working within the business to enable them to return to work, work more hours and work during school holiday periods with their children. This can provide significant financial help for staff.
Our Planet
We have a sustainable living philosophy with annual growing of fruit and vegetables, which are given away for free to parents attending the Nursery School. Our ‘Tiny Harvesters’ programme is great fun to get all children (0 to 5 years) engaged in growing and taking plants home to grown. This encourages the children to feel connected to their environment and build confidence in sustainable living. Our Worm Adventurers programme connects reading with the natural environment to demonstrate the importance of research and practical understanding in practice.
Our recycling project (collecting bottle tops) not only generates important funds for outdoor furniture, but it also raises awareness and appreciation of recycling plastic. This extends each child’s participation in social responsible practices and encourage responsible living beyond our setting.
Our Social Value Generated
Alongside our our investment in staff and their children, we are blessed with philanthropic support from a range of private supporters. This generates free supplies for families, free gifts and enhanced resource provision.
We work with local childminders, grandparents and other members of families in the community to provide special events and opportunities throughout the year.
